Monica O'Leary, BA, LMT
In his wallet, Fred Rogers carried a slip of paper with a quote from Mary Lou Kownacki that read, "There isn't anyone you couldn't love once you've heard their story."*
Each of us has a story and so much of it is stored in our bodies. I find it amazing to help clients to let go and allow themselves to relax and release tension, frustration, sadness, anger, grief and to take in peace and tranquility. To me massage is all about compassion for each other.
I graduated from The George Washington University in 2000 and moved to New York City to work in financial services. I enjoyed the fun environment very much and miss my colleagues dearly, but I decided to take my life adventure on another path. I chose to become a massage therapist and I am very thankful I did. I graduated from the highly regarded Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy in May 2004 and left the financial services industry in April 2005.
I am enjoying my new career and continue to take classes and attend seminars. I have taken post graduate courses in prenatal massage, infant massage instruction and Reiki. By taking massage for cancer patients courses at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Mt. Sinai, I have pursued my interest in working with terminally ill and elderly clients.
I have worked at Naturopathica Holistic Health Spa in East Hampton, NY and at Cornelia Day Resort in Manhattan. I am currently making house calls in Fairfield and Westchester Counties, seeing clients at Elements Yoga Studio in Darien, CT and am currently working with Pryority Fitness of New Canaan, CT.
I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Monica O'Leary NY and CT Licensed Massage Therapist Nationally Certified by NCBTMB Certified Prenatal Massage Therapist Certified Parent-Infant Massage Instructor through the Loving Touch Foundation Member of the American Massage Therapy Association
