In his wallet, Fred Rogers carried a slip of paper with a quote that read, "There isn't anyone you couldn't love once you've heard their story."* I believe much of our stories are stored in our bodies. With massage, we can work through the ups and downs of life. My mission is to be a compassionate companion on people's journeys with their bodies. It is amazing how therapeutic touch can alleviate discomfort and restore the the mind, body and spirit. Massage allows me the opportunity to provide a few moments of respite from whatever is troubling our body or mind. Through my Ericksonian hypnosis training, I offer creative visualizations to transport the mind to places of love, tranquility, and joy. The power of the mind is amazing and can be a tool that clients can use at home as well. In 2004 I graduated from the highly acclaimed Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy. My focus was on therapeutic medical massage. Post graduate courses have included advanced studies in massage for cancer patients, prenatal massage certification, Ericksonian hypnosis, parent-infant massage certification, massage for the child bearing cycle, reflexology, and Reiki. By taking massage for cancer patients courses at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Mt. Sinai, I have continued to learn how best to support ill and elderly clients. While volunteering at Beth Israel, I took great joy in massaging patients in the Pain and Palliative Care Unit. From 2015-2018 I was proud to be working with The Helen Sawaya Foundation to provide massages for patients receiving chemotherapy/hemotolgy treatments in the Mt. Sinai West Hospital Infusion Suite. Located at 1000 10th Avenue in Manhattan. For me massage is all about compassion for each other. Over the past 10 years as a massage therapist in private practice as well as part time at top luxury health and wellness spas, I have enjoyed helping clients to relax and release tension, frustration, sadness, anger, or grief whilst taking in peace and tranquility.
